Soilfood
The right recruitment partner can save significant time in the day-to-day life of a CEO
Eljas Jokinen, Founder & CEO
Eljas Jokinen spent his youth working on the largest dairy farms in southern Finland and got his first taste of recycled nutrients at the age of 18, when his first company started offering contract sludge spreading services. Eljas has guided Soilfood's growth in his role as CEO since the company was founded.

Business understanding and a genuine interest in our company made a good first impression
The three-year collaboration between Soilfood and Nawian Mikko has included 10 interesting assignments with very different roles. Along the way, Soilfood has recruited reinforcements for sales and operational management, among others. The company is doing the right things, with turnover almost doubling in three years to over €10 million.

Our collaboration started when Mikko called me, telling me clearly and convincingly about his approach to recruitment. He was genuinely interested in us as an operator and had done his homework. A recruitment partner needs to understand how the client's business works and what the business is about. This also allows for better success in attracting talent. Naturally, trust has deepened during the trip, but the first impression already laid the foundations for a good partnership. This is a business of trust, like many others.
Resulting in successful recruitments, significant time savings and new revenue streams
In the role of CEO, focusing time and energy on the right and important things matters. I have been an entrepreneur all my career and have done a lot of recruitment myself. I know how much time you can put into the process, especially if you want to get things done and communicate well. The fact that you can go directly through potential profiles and spend your time on the right conversations saves a lot of time and makes it more meaningful to do business from the client's perspective. Mikko knows me, my way of working and Soilfood. As a result, the candidates he presents hit the bull's eye. I also appreciate new angles of input and constructive challenge. Mikko also introduces candidates with a background or expertise that is consciously different from what we originally set out to find. The recruitment process is a great opportunity to learn new things and clarify the objectives involved in recruiting a new person.
The recruitment landscape has changed
Recruitment is a two-way street, where the employer can easily ruin the image of a potential candidate and make them leave the process. Understanding the situation and being humble are the keys to success.
My responsibility is to be able to clearly communicate why Soilfood is an interesting environment to work in and what kind of way of doing things we value in our everyday lives. It all starts with a partner doing a good job and being able to attract the right people to talk to us. Our role is to pull in the same exercise and ensure a quality candidate experience right through to the end. The key is that each new encounter delivers genuine value and insight for both parties. The constant sparring and exchange of ideas with Miko throughout the process has been a great help to me.
Soilfood shows how crisis awareness and the desire to make the world a better place can turn into business
