Nawia helps build strong teams - "Cooperation has been smooth from the start"

Experience, vision and heart for recruitment

Marjukka Varis is an experienced HR professional who has worked in recruitment and people development since the 1990s. Currently responsible for the HR function at Parker Hannifin Nordic, she brings a touch of humour, a lot of heart - and a competitive spirit to her work, especially when the family plays darts.

When international technology company Parker Hannifin was looking for a partner to support its recruitment efforts, the goal was not just to provide a resource - but to work together to share values and understand people from the ground up. Marjukka, HR Director, says that this is why Nawia was chosen as a partner.

Values and candidate experience first

Good recruitment starts with people, and a meeting of values.

"It's important for us to get people who are curious, brave and enthusiastic. That applicants feel heard and respected. And that the whole process is clear and communication works," says Marjukka.

For Parker, candidate experience is not just a nice-to-have, but a key part of the recruitment process. "For every candidate, this is a big deal - you have to remember it at every turn. We want the process to be open, warm and engaging from start to finish."

A partnership that genuinely works both ways

According to Marjuka, the most important thing about working with Nawia and Parker has been the common thread and easy everyday life.

"We have had good chemistry from the beginning. Cooperation is smooth and communication works - you can always be reached. Sometimes we're a bit less successful, but fortunately we have a wide range of communication tools," he laughs.

A special mention goes to Hannu and Jari from Nawia, who have been very involved in everyday life. "The cooperation has been uncomplicated and I appreciate it very much."

Quality - and insight - is expected from a recruitment partner

Although Marjukka herself is a recruitment professional with a long career in the field, she does not hesitate to involve a partner in important recruitments.

"For us, using a partner is not a question of resources, but a choice of quality. We do not have the ability to find candidates in the same way as a good recruitment partner. And a good partner understands us on a deeper level."

Marjukka emphasises in particular that the partner must take the time to understand the organisation. "Only then can you really find the right fit. Not only in terms of skills, but also in terms of personality and values."

In the future, the ability to change - and to understand others - will be key

Recruitment is not an isolated process, but part of an organisation's strategy and culture.
"The future will see a greater emphasis on change capability. Being able to operate in a fast-changing world while keeping your head in balance," says Marjukka.

But he has one thing on his heart: "I wish that the conversations in the recruitment process were not interviews, but conversations. A little more warmth and openness. When both sides can honestly consider whether we are the right environment for each other - that's when the best results are achieved."
