Bama Nordic and Jens Rosenqvist: A smooth recruitment process that led to a perfect match
At the dawn of a new beginning
When Jens Rosenqvist started looking for a new job in August 2025, he knew it might be a long road ahead. The market situation was challenging, and as an experienced professional, he had his own concerns.
“There are now significantly more applicants than usual. And when you start to get older, you can’t be sure how that will affect things. The best companies look at the big picture and see the value of experience – but that’s not always the case.”
The position of Sales Manager at Bama Nordic caught my eye on LinkedIn right at the start of my job search, and something just clicked right away.

Sales Manager, Bama Nordic
Clear communication saves everyone time
Jens drew attention to how the job advertisement was structured. It openly stated what kind of skills and personality were being sought and gave a realistic picture of the job.
“The advertisement was comprehensive and divided into clear sections. It provided sufficient information about what the job entailed and what kind of person they were looking for. If you are looking for someone with a specific background, it is best to say so directly – then the applicant can assess for themselves whether this is the right job for them.”
The same clarity was also evident on the customer side. Suzanne Grønfeldt, Commercial Director at Bama Nordic, appreciated the fact that Nawia carefully built the process from the ground up. "I didn't have to get involved in the details. Everything had been thought through in advance, and the collaboration went smoothly."
Positive differentiation through communication
As the process progressed, Jens noticed that this recruitment was different from many of his previous experiences.
“I was positively surprised by how well things were handled. Communication worked well, we were told what would happen next and kept up to date. Especially the uncertainty of not knowing where things stand – that’s hard for an applicant. In this process, we didn’t have to experience that.”
He emphasizes that the further the process progresses, the more important communication becomes.
“Even a small piece of information can be extremely valuable to an applicant. Even if it’s just that it’s best to wait a couple of days before contacting them again, the applicant doesn’t have to sit impatiently by the phone. When the stakes are high, applicants also want to know where they stand.” SuzanneGrønfeldt recognizes the same principle from the employer’s perspective: “Nawia’s meetings are concise and businesslike. Afterwards, there is always a clear summary, which makes the whole collaboration effortless.”
A relaxed atmosphere brings out the best
According to Jens, the best recruitment experience is created when the meeting feels like a conversation—not an interrogation.
“The old model, where applicants are grilled, doesn’t work. When the atmosphere is relaxed, it’s easier to be yourself. Then both parties get a genuine picture of whether the collaboration could work.”
Special mention goes to Hannu Pelli from Nawia, who was responsible for the process.
“Hannu is a really pleasant person. He immediately made me feel at ease. We sat down at the same table and had an open discussion – just as it should be.”
The company you want to represent
For Jens, choosing an employer is never just a career decision. He wants to represent a company whose products and activities he believes in.
“Fresh produce, healthy food – this is a sector that is only growing in importance. When I looked at Bama Nordic’s figures, I saw growth. There was still room for improvement in terms of profitability, but that was precisely what made this role so interesting: the chance to really make a difference and build something.”
He compares the situation to his previous experiences.
“I used to work for a tobacco company. Although the company and the people were nice, it wasn’t an industry whose long-term future prospects I fully believed in. Now the situation is different.”My first encounters with my future team alsoreinforced my feeling of compatibility. “The people seemed genuinely nice. I immediately got the feeling that I would enjoy working here.”
Two months from application to agreement
Jens's process progressed quickly. It took about two months from the application sent at the end of August to the signing of the employment contract.
“I was surprised at how quickly everything progressed. I was prepared for it to take a long time. When everything fell into place, it was a huge relief.”
Jens started as Sales Manager at Bama Nordic in December 2025.
An experience to remember
Suzanne Grønfeldt was already familiar with Nawia from 2022, and the new collaboration only reinforced her previous impression . “What I expect from a recruitment partner is a well-managed process and finding the best possible candidate. Both of these were achieved here.”
Jens sums up his experience succinctly:"
" "Thank you, Hannu, for all your help and support. When everything fell into place, it was a huge joy and relief."
